A Late Mother's Day Thought!
I haven't blogged in forever! Someone told me that they couldn't keep up unless I blogged, so I decided to write again (may only last one day, but worth a try!) Thought I would blog on these two girls who entertain us daily. This past mother's day was not a "normal" one due to Megan being sick...so I am late on my reflections of being a mother...I am thankful that God has blessed Matt and me with their daily humor! CarrieBeth is my easy going child...she handles problems like "water off a duck's back". Megan is my strong willed child who internalizes everything and soaks it up! CarrieBeth is most like me, but is definitely a "daddy's girl". Megan is most like Matt, but is a "momma's girl"! Here are some examples of their humorous perspective on things:
YESTERDAY
7:00 p.m. Megan and CarrieBeth fight over a toy that Mrs. Grimes gave Megan.
7:15 p.m. Megan said that she didn't like to share and she didn't think she could...major speech with Meg over the fact that she WOULD learn to share with her sister
9:00 p.m. Bedtime
10:00 p.m. Megan, who is well aware of needing to be asleep, waits until CB is asleep walks quickly out of her bedroom and into the kitchen, opens the cabinet, grabs her hidden toy out of the pots and pans and says to me, "Sorry...just didn't want to." She carefully doesn't pause b/c she knows that speech #101 is coming and probably some form of discipline :) She goes straight back to bed.
TODAY
5:30 Carpool girls are in a discussion and are somewhat competing as to who has spent the night with a friend the most. I, the mean mom, stops them and reminds them that they don't have to compete against each other. CarrieBeth turns around and tells them, "Girls, please stop. Yall just don't understand. As soon as yall get out, Megan and I will get a speech for 30 minutes because of yall"
What am I going to do with these girls? Matt and I say so much, "If we ever get them raised..." Allthough they need several speeches a day, they keep us laughing. I am so proud of them and who they are, each with their different personalities! I love their perspective! I love being their momma!
This made me smile :)!!
