Moving Sand

Vacation is always refreshing! For this blog, I wanted write about something that hit me hard and was humbling for me! God showed me something so simple while we were away, but so true. He knows the ways to my heart! Matt and I went to Lulu's. Lucy Buffett has a restaurant located on the intercoastal waterway in Gulf Shores. She has brought sand in and provided many many buckets and shovels for the little ones that visit her restaurant! She even had a bathtub fountain for them to play in. The girls were having a ball! I sat there and watched them forever. They went back and forth, moving sand from one place to another. Then they would run over to the bathtub fountain and bring water back to their sand. They would go to their next cleared spot of sand when they wanted to move on. All of those kids out there had no purpose but to just move that sand. I asked Matt, "You reckon what they think they are doing?" It was so funny. Their little faces were so determined and so focused!
God said to me in that moment so clearly.."This is You!" He looks down each day and sees his people, and me especially, all going in different directions, doing things to the equivalent of "moving sand from one place to the other" or building a better castle than a neighbor. That sand changes with the wind and time is lost! The busier I get, the more I loose my focus!
The condo was on the sixth floor and looked over the ocean. It was beautiful...oil or no oil. God's grandeur is amazing. We had a great time and covered the coast from Panama City to Mobile! We went to Shipwreck, Gulfarium, Parks, The Track, Lulus, The Battleship in Mobile, and Bass Pro! And don't forget Lamberts, Home of the Throwed Rolls!
