"You two should not have had children"

CarrieBeth and Megan had their first full week of chores/allowance last week...I had cleaned out the magazine rack in the bathroom and had just stacked them in the garbage can. I had intentions to get them out, but never did. Megan's chore on a following night was to dump all of the garbage cans out. Hee hee...If I only could have had a video of her walking with that heavy can. She was so proud of herself. I don't know how she kept from knocking herself out getting the garbage can off of the counter. Yes we keep them on the counter and have never put them back down from when they would plunder through them! The chores are still fun to them and they did great with them last week!
With CarrieBeth's allowance, she bought a critter cage at Walmart...While it was raining, Matt caught the biggest frog! They were so proud of their frog. CarrieBeth took it to school the first day. I was afraid it would be a smaller version of the Mississippi Squirell! Matt and I laughed when we were talking about the fact that CarrieBeth took a frog to school, wore her new tennis shoes, and had a limo ride all in one day...What a great day for a Kindergartener! Then we went to T&C...they just had to show T.J. their frog. We took it to Andrew...he gave it a good shaking! And then Megan took it to daycare today. Needless to say it needed to be released as soon as we got home today! It was a little pale!!!
Some of my day is spent teaching the lessons of life, or correcting the lessons that they tell each other. CarrieBeth is the tender hearted child...She told me that one of the girls in her class won't play with her. Before I, the mother, could get a word out, Megan hung her tongue out and spit at CarrieBeth and said "I didn't like you anyway...That's what you tell that little girl,Care-wieBeth" Where does she come up with this stuff? Corrective action was needed immediately!
Also last week was the beginning of "I want my ears pierced"...not by the 5 year old...THE 3 YEAR OLD! CarrieBeth asked where you got you ears peirced and Megan said, "The mall, that's where my friends get their ears peirced". She has done a full investigation! It is an everyday question, "Momma when can I get my ears pierced?" I took her by to see the gun at Walmart...she doesn't care if it hurts. She wasn't phased by it at all. This is coming from the bull that I took to get a flu shot one time and she left it flinging back and forth in her leg! I am not saying that I won't let her right now, but I just know once its done, I can't take it back. I just don't think I am ready to pierce my little baby's ears right now.
And one of the funniest things that happened was that Matt and I were going on at each other over who was going to bathe the kids that night and get them ready for bed. CarrieBeth put her hands on her hip and said "You two just should not have had children"....
They certainly keep me going! You just got to love them...
I posted a picture of my nephew Trey playing upward basketball...He is an awesome player this year and I am so proud of him!
I also posted a picture of CarrieBeth in front of the hummer limo on Monday for her school party.
