I thought back today to the time that I drove Shannan's car to high school while she was on her honeymoon. We were all exhausted from the wedding and did not take time to clean out the cricket infestation brought on by my BAD cousins...It was cold that morning and the crickets were lying hopelessly on their backs, having seen their better days. I drove with my legs up in the air barely touching the gas pedal...it was terrible. I just thought that was bad...when I returned to the car that afternoon, I got a surprise. Being that south Alabama weather warms during the day, the crickets had thawed and were back to life. I remember being so embarrassed and driving up the driveway on two wheels trying to get home.
With that being said, I couldn't help but think about that warmth bringing life to the families of Covington while we have had such a busy week at work...WOW! Our clients have come to life with the warm weather! But along with the chaos, comes so much humor! I wish at times that I could write a book of the top funniest things or top shocking things that happen in a days time. Or I wish I could save my voicemails and compile them one day. I do love the humor in the job and glad that there is some!
Yes, the humor is what makes the sadness bearable! Getting ready for a full, funny summer!! What is it about the warm weather??
ReplyDeleteI think we have to laugh at what we do or we would go insane!
ReplyDeletejust an fyi-- my agency is submitting a proposal to possibly present at the Ninth Annual Social Work conference at UA in August. Hopefully we will be able to present. If so, you need to come because I know you want to be just like me!!
